» The well-done job

Not having too much to do this evening brought me to sit down and watch The Italian Job earlier. And it was totally awesome, I was surprised that it was as good as it was, but I didn’t really know what to expect. The story was straightforward enough (and good enough), and I won’t say much about it, except mention a few of the cool twists of it.

Firstly, there were a lot of cool ideas performed. Not visual ideas/special effects, just plain human ideas on how to steal, for example, a safe that’s guarded by a number of guards without firing a single shot.

Secondly, there were a few very nice transitions when changing situations and locations. Hard to explain, but they were just.. nice.

There was nothing extraordinary about the movie at all, but at the same time, there was nothing that was particularly wrong about it. Story was good, filming was good, actors were good – that doesn’t make a movie perfect, but it necessarily makes it a good movie.
The story is also based on the original “The Italian Job” from the 60s.. and now I want to see that movie!

All in all, I’m glad I saw it, of course. And sure, I’ll recommend it to you too, if you haven’t seen it already. Good action and lots of fun for 2 hours :)
